Salma Rape Case (Special Case No. 91 of 2017)

The victim is a married woman residing in Muhammadi Colony, Karachi. She started living with her family again after her husband was sent to prison in a criminal case.

The accused/convict is her own father, who committed rape on her several times. A child (daughter) was also born out of it, who was subsequently sold off by her father to cover up the crime.

In judgment by Mumtaz Ali Solangi, Judge concluded that the prosecution has succeeded in proving its case beyond reasonable doubt. Accordingly, the accused was convicted under Section 376 PPC and sentenced to fifteen years (15) of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of rupees two (02) lacs.
